Jos Viljoen
Human Resource Development Practitioner
I am a Human Resources Development Practitioner in the education, training and development sector. I am interested in the study fields of human resource development, adult education, skills development, counseling, life coaching, theology education and human flourishing.
I started my career in the ministry as pastor of the Dutch Reformed Church in Ventersburg, South Africa. I have been employed as a director at Universal College Outcomes SA, a national education and training company in South Africa, since 2001. My responsibilities are the Human Resources Development and Academic Support divisions of the company.
I am professionally registered as a Master Human Resource Practitioner in the ETD sector, with SABPP (The South African Board of Personnel Practice) and I have membership at COMENSA (Coaches and Mentors of South Africa) as a life coach in employment.
Although my focus is in the education and training sector, I do have relevant experience in the generalist human resources field with practical knowledge of remuneration, industrial relations and labour legislation. I also have extensive knowledge of the adult education sector and compliance to the legislative processes of SAQA and the NQF.
Due to my interest in the development of people, I have completed a PhD in the study field of life coaching and Pastoral Theology at the North-West University. I have a good knowledge of research methodology on post graduate level and in 2016 I became a member of the North-West University Economic and Management Sciences Research Ethics Committee (EMS-REC).
My hobbies are model trains and shortwave listening.
